A high carat gold and enamel devotional pendant in the manner of Giuseppe Bruno.

Sicilian, second half of the 17th century.

The pendant is extensively decorated to the front with exotic flowers to include tulips and aquilegia, with a glazed locket compartment which contains further floral decoration to the interior. The reverse of the pendant is decorated with enamelled heads of putti which surround a larger enamel image of Saint Anthony of Padua.

The Victoria and Albert Museum holds a similarly enamelled pendant catalogued as in the style of Giuseppe Bruno (accession no. 1285-1871) and another example can be found in the Royal Collection Trust (accession no. RCIN 441486).
